This weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” features a bombshell actor who’s recently stepped into her rom-com era.

Sydney Sweeney, star of recent blockbuster hit “Anyone But You,” makes her debut as host on SNL this weekend.

NBC’s legendary, late-night comedy show came back in full swing on Oct. 14, 2023 after going dark last year. The show took a hiatus beginning in April 2023 as a result of the Writers Guild of America, the union representing many of Hollywood’s TV show and film writers, going on strike.

The season 49 premiere in October featured SNL alum Pete Davidson hosting and Ice Spice as the musical guest. The entire cast from season 48 returned for the premiere, with James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman promoted from featured players to repertory players and New York City-based comedian Chloe Troast joining as a new member of the crew.

The series hosted their first show of 2024 on Jan. 20, featuring “Saltburn” and “Priscilla” heartthrob Jacob Elordi as the host and “Mean Girls” star Reneé Rapp as the musical guest.

Who’s hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ on March 2?

Sweeney, previously known for her recurring roles on standout series “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Euphoria,” will make her first appearance as host on the SNL stage for the Saturday, March 2 show.

The 26-year-old actor from Spokane, Washington has received major acclaim in recent months, having starred in “Anyone But You” released at the end of last year. She also appears alongside Dakota Johnson in “Madame Web,” the newest film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe released on Valentine’s Day this year.

Joining Sweeney this weekend is musical guest Kacey Musgraves, who has performed on the show twice before – in May 2018 and October 2021.
