Melbourne digital services firm Nexigen Digital has announced the acquisition of the Hosting Cloud and Bluefish Hosting brands from Perth IT services and consulting firm Trigg Networks.
Perth-based Hosting Cloud provides services covering domain names, cloud website hosting and online solutions, while Sydney-based Bluefish Hosting offers web hosting, web development and domain registration services.
The acquisition will see over 1,000 customers from both brands transferred to Nexigen’s retail arm, VentraIP, and fully integrated by the end of March.
Founded in 2008, Nexigen offers web hosting, email hosting, domain registration, online marketing and integration services via its VentraIP, Synergy Wholesale and Digital Eagles brands.
The company said it generated $47 million in revenue for the 2023 financial year.
“Customers of Hosting Cloud and Bluefish Hosting will now have access to our award-winning 100 per cent Australian customer service team, reliable infrastructure and dozens of new self-service features,” Nexigen’s co-founder and co-CEO Cheyne Jonstone said.
“Given that most domain names are already using our Synergy Wholesale platform and our proprietary software for migrating customers between hosting servers, we anticipate very little friction and a smooth transition to our platform.”
In June 2023, Nexigen completed its one year multi-million-dollar network refresh and data centre relocation, from NEXTDC’s S1 to S2 in Sydney.
