Meet the Padgate 20-year-old working 95-hour weeks to build business

A YOUNG inspiring entrepreneur from Padgate has managed to build a successful digital printing business from the four corners of his bedroom within a year, while completing an apprenticeship in the process.

Owner of Cheshire Print, Jake Willington, works up to 95 hours a week with the ‘occasional’ day off, to bring his dream of owning a business to life.

The 20-year-old set up the digital printing business in January this year after he began studying his level three apprenticeship in the subject and he has managed to complete what is estimated to be a 28-month course in just 12 months.

Jakes currently sells printed air fresheners and paper floor mats via his own ‘in house production process’ to car valeting companies and other businesses and has shipped his products globally.

He describes the main selling point of Cheshire Print to be the low minimum order quantities which his competitors do not offer, as well as producing a vast range of over 500 fragrances in the air fresheners.

And if that wasn’t enough, Jake also works full-time at Surf & Turf Instant Shelters Ltd based in Woolston, printing specialised designs for brands.

“I’ve always dreamed about owning my own business, I’ve tried numerous times to get the ball rolling, in many sectors of the economy, but I’ve never really given it one hundred percent, or I’ve hit a pitfall not long after setting up,” Jake said.

“This has of course taught me how to do it the right way, and I am confident that I could successfully start over from nothing if I ever needed to.”

While Jake certainly doesn’t live the average lifestyle of a 20-year-old, he believes that later down the line it will all be worth it.

He said: “I work around 95 hours a week with the occasional day off, the day off consists of doing very little, with zero interaction with my business.

“I plan on reaping the rewards of my hard work a few years down the line.
