Rachel Watkyn started Tiny Box Company, which sells eco-friendly packaging to businesses and consumers, in 2007 and has grown it to a team of 85. In 2021 sales hit £9.2 million, with pre-tax profit of nearly £900,000.

On October 20 last year Watkyn, 51, bought the assets of Know the Origin, an ecommerce company selling sustainable fashion and gifts, after it had gone into liquidation in August. The same day, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and in December underwent a double mastectomy.

I signed the paperwork to buy Know the Origin in the morning and got the diagnosis in the afternoon. If it had been the other way around, I probably wouldn’t have finalised the deal because at the time I didn’t know what
