In this video i want to walk you through How i use convertkit to set up publish And grow my evergreen newsletter Welcome to my channel i'm pamela bassett The founder of the lucrative lady and on This video i'm talking about my favorite Platforms convertkit which is a creator Marketing platform i want to walk you Through how i grow my email list using a Newsletter and the various steps that i Have taken to not only set up my Newsletter but to make it evergreen part One i'm gonna be walking you through my Newsletter landing page and how i Created it through convertkit in part 2 I'm going to be walking you through how I plug emails into my evergreen sequence To power my newsletter in part 3 i'm Going to be showing you a sneaky but Very very useful strategy for keeping Your email list clean and reducing the Unsubscribe rate you're going to want to Check that out for sure so first of all Let's dive into Landing pages for your newsletter so What is a landing page a landing page as Most people know is of course a page Where visitors land in order to put Their name and email address in exchange For something in this case it's in Exchange for a newsletter now one of the Easiest ways that i created my landing Page is actually by simply using one of The beautiful templates that is already
Given to us inside of convertkit so let Me dive in behind my laptop and show you How i chose my template and how i Configured it to work with my brand and How i set it up and made it live let's Jump in and have a look right now So when it comes to creating a landing Page for my newsletter i actually went With a form so a form is pretty much a Landing page but it's what goes on the Inside so uh what people see on the Outside isn't uh from convertkit in this Specific instance but my form is Converted so let me show you what that Looks like on the outside so this is my Website so if you want to check it out In real time pamelabasa.com and you can Check it out once you come onto my Website and you scroll down You're going to get to this middle bit And this is my newsletter it's called Wake to wealth so you're going to see This uh put that away you're going to See this video is this your current Reality so you're going to see this Video that sort of walks you through and Then down here is the call to action Which is join the movement when people Click on join the movement they come Over here and they put their name in Here and they put their email in here And they click over here and and then They are instantly added to the form Inside of convertkit
So this is uh essentially what it looks Like now uh my website is uh pretty new And we are You know reconfiguring and literally Directing people to Mainly the uh newsletter so the Newsletter is just a huge part of what We do and so you can find that if you uh Go over to pumabasa.com and you could Join the movement you can see this in Real time but how does it connect to Convec so it connects over here right it Connects as a form over here so uh this Is me creating a form but let me show You What the forms um actually look like so Landing pages and forms So instead of create new i'm going to uh Go over let me do Uh Oldest or pardon me newest Hello here we are so this is the form Way to wealth website subscribers now This form on my website was literally Added yesterday As at the point of this recording right So it is uh brand new but this is what It looks like uh on the inside it's an Inline form so this is what people see On the outside which is linked to my Website over here but on the inside this Is what is actually happening so now how Do we or how did we create this so if i Go over to grow and i go over to landing
Pages and forms I'm going to land here you click on Create new And over here you have two options you Have form you have a landing page now Before i take you over to the form you Do have the option to create a landing Page so the reason why i don't have a Landing page is because this form is Connected to my website already and so My website is the landing page but if i Didn't have a landing page i would Simply click over here to landing page And then you have various options for Different templates that are already Pre-built Using convertkit and i know so many Entrepreneurs who literally have a Landing page built inside of convertkit And it is so stunning so let's have a Quick look so if i click over here to News letter So we can see lots of newsletter uh Templates that you could easily use uh For your business so let me see if there Is one that i really like Hold on Okay this is pretty good in fact i know I'm an influencer who has such a big Email list who uses this exact template So if i click on preview over here so This is what the preview would look like And of course you can change the colors The text the um everything you can
Literally change the format of it and You can see other templates in here Depending on what you like so i could Have used this i actually uh Contemplated using this one because i Like that it has a video module which You can add to any landing page um etc So you can literally just look through At the templates to see which one you Really really like this is really pretty Um as well i actually do like this one But mine is on my website so i didn't Need a landing page i instead used a Form so let me go back to showing you um How i did that let's head back So i click over here to form And then what i do is i click on in line And to be honest it really doesn't Matter What you choose so if i go back to show You the various options you have inline You have modal You have slide in and you have a sticky Bar so what is the what is the Difference in line it's pretty much the One that i that i used on my site and What goes behind this however modal is When you can see that this blue is sort Of on top of the content So it sort of sits on top of the content Whilst slide in you can see that the Blue here is in the corner so that means That this is like a pop-up that slides Into the page and a sticky bar i really
Do like this it's where it's at the top You can see the blue line at the top It's where your lead magnet is set at The top so on my website for example if I go right to the top i do have This here so this is considered as uh This is considered a sticky bar because It is right at the top but mine isn't Sticking just yet because we have Literally just added in my website has Just been recently redone So um so here it is it would sit right At the top just like this at the top Sits here so this is a lead magnet as Well and in fact this form if i click This is connected to convertkit as well All of my forms are connected to Convertkit so in this instance i would Choose inline because that's what i have On my website And then i tend to go with this one now You have various options that you could Choose um to be honest you know for Yours i just go for the simple one Because nobody's going to see it right So i click on choose Over here And then what you want to do is first Change the name so I'm going to change this to demo Just so i remember to delete and then it Has email address i tend to also add the Name so i've clicked the plus so this is The email and this is where the name
Field is going to go so here i have Email address and your name but i want The name to come first so i'm going to Move swap this over so now i have your Name here and your email with this email Section you cannot change anything i Mean you can change what it says inside But it's default email this however the Name i can change so i've written down Your name or first name whatever you Like And then as a custom field i'm going to Hit this drop down on the right hand Side i'm going to leave it as a custom Field And then here i'm going to select first Name because that's the custom field and This is what it says inside it and i'm Going to tick here as required right so That you have to give me your name or a Name in order to move forward and then All i have to do is save Now in order to add it to my website However if i click down in order to add It to my website however all i need to Do is hit publish over here and i have Various options i have the javascript so I could literally copy this and use that So it says embed your form onto your Site with one line of javascript Um you can use html You can just share the form You can have if you have a wordpress Plugin then you have unbounds etc so if
You do have A um if you are using wordpress on your Site i know that um you can have a WordPress a convertkit plugin for WordPress that literally allows you to Attach the form to your website at the Click of a button Now my team tend to do all of this Section uh for me to be quite honest With you um all i do is uh you know Create the actual content that goes on There but anyhow if you hit publish this Is where you have the various options For how you can then add that newsletter To your website and so that's what we Have here Okay now if you didn't want to do any of That of course then you would simply Instead of creating a form you would Simply create a landing page instead so You'd go over here to create new And instead you'd create a landing page And then the landing page sits all by Itself and you don't need to connect it To any uh prior website or anything like That so i think that this is a much much Much easier option To get started with but i just wanted to Show you what i do and how i got set up Quickly now that we've had a look at the Landing page for your newsletter the Next thing i want to walk you through is How to plug in your emails as you know The purpose of a newsletter is to keep a
Relationship built or rather keep your Relationship growing with your Subscribers so how do you plug in those Emails do you plug them in as a Broadcast or as an email sequence you Know if you're not sure that's exactly What i'm going to be showing you in this Segment so let me jump behind my laptop And let's take a look so for your Newsletter you have two options for how To deliver your emails if you come over Here to send the options that you have Are either broadcast or sequences now it All depends on how you want to run your Newsletter i do know a lot of people who Do a broadcast which is a one-time uh Email that you send out so this means That if for example you um you have a Newsletter that you've been running from January and somebody joins your Newsletter in april it does mean that They would have missed all of the emails That you sent in january february and March because they joined in april What i chose to do however and what i'll Be showing you is a sequence now the Reason i created a sequence instead of a Broadcast is because my newsletter is Evergreen so if i come over here to show You so um here it is it's a weight 12 And and i currently have 10 353 Subscribers i've had 159 um unsubscribe etc in there and you Will always have people unsubscribed no
Matter what you do so i don't even look At this number If i'm being completely honest with you I don't look at them so um here we are So if i open this the reason why i Decided to go for an evergreen Newsletter is because i truly believe in Having a hands-free business i believe In automation and if i'm being Completely honest i put so much work uh Into these emails so let me show you uh You know the depth of these emails i put So much work into writing them you know That i just think to myself if somebody Joins my newsletter i don't want them to Miss even one So my plan is to create a one-year long Chain of newsletter that's incredibly Powerful and you know full of value um For my subscribers and i've only just Started so i only have one two three Four Five six emails in this chain um so far Because it is brand new So um if you are thinking about creating A newsletter i would highly recommend That you think evergreen now how do you Create an evergreen newsletter how did i Do this well very very simple so i go Back let me show you how i started so as I mentioned earlier this is a sequence As you can see here now to create a Sequence you go to new sequences over Here
And that's it so you name Your newsletter His newsletter name goes here oops You click on create a sequence And that's it you begin so first you add The subject line There and then you add Body Of your email And of course format and check Everything that everything works well And so on and so forth and so this is How i would literally set it up once you Have set it up you hit publish or rather You want to make sure that the sending Date is You know it's fine so for your first Email you definitely want to send it Immediately so i'd hit here i'd go down To zero so that it says immediately so That this first email whenever somebody Joins my newsletter from my website over Here so if they come on my website or Even if they see the landing page and They click on join movement they put in Their name they put in their email and They hit this call to action button this Is the first email that they're going to Receive so i want them to receive it Immediately Once i have done that i hit publish and That is ready to go well as a sequence It's ready to go And then you add your next email so
Subject here Email body Here Now this time depending on how often you Want your newsletter to go out now if It's a newsletter i don't advise that You do a daily newsletter i mean there Are some people who do daily emails and You can do that but if it's a newsletter And it's going to be Really in-depth like mine is and you Might choose to do it weekly in which Case you'd hit the drop down Go up to seven And keep this on days over here and That's it so now you know that this Email will be sent in seven days time Once you've checked your email you hit Publish and your sequence this is Essentially how you build the entire Sequence you keep clicking on add email Add email add email and you keep doing That until you decide to retire your Sequence however if you are doing an Evergreen email sequence like myself Then you know that you are literally Sowing a seed in your business And people are going to be incredibly Getting credible value from this uh Sequence so you just keep going and you Know that this is what's going to build Your Business in the long run so this is how I set up my newsletter email sequence so
I've walked you through just now how to Plug your emails into a sequence and Evergreen sequence but there is one Thing that i want to show you and it is A very very small hack but very powerful Nonetheless for how to keep your email List clean and reduce the unsubscribe Rate because there's nothing quite as Painful as you know you're growing your Email list and people are unsubscribing From that list it can be demoralizing But i promise you there are things that You can do and this is just one of them Let's jump in and i'll show you how i Use convertkit to reduce my unsubscribe Rate so here is a little strategy that i Use to keep my unsubscribe rates down a Lot of people worry about unsubscribes And you know if you run at then there is Several reasons to worry because you've Paid for people to be on your list and You don't want them to leave but they Will leave but how do you reduce that Let me show you so this is i just want The emails inside of my Newsletter i'll scroll down and show you What i have done at the bottom so this Sentence Right here it says if by the off chance You have no interest in increasing your Revenue with my help no hard feelings Click here to unsubscribe and you won't Hear about wake to wealth again but you Will remain on my list
So what i have done is they technically Have two unsubscribed uh areas so they Have one here and they have one here if They click on this one then they get to Unsubscribe from my entire list however If they click on this one they get to Unsubscribe from um the the series uh For this newsletter but stay on my list And the way that i've done this is i've Literally just added the sentence And then here i've hyperlinked this By adding a link there so what i Initially did was create uh a page uh on My website you can also do this with a Convertkit landing page and it has a Link and it has a non-subscribing so if I go to that page you'll see exactly What it says and i literally use the Same page for all of my unsubscribe so Thanks you've been unsubscribed And that's it right that's all it says When they land on that page so you could Do that So you could um you could achieve that With a convertkit landing page as well If you do not have your own um website Now how could how do i track this well i Track this through A tag and i've opened it on a separate Uh tab here to show you the tags if i Head over to this tab these are all of My tags inside of convertkit i have Loads i don't know how many i have but There are loads so if i scroll all the
Way down To You for the unsubscribe you'll see that This is a strategy that i use pretty Much all the time Uh to keep my list from um essentially Dwindling away but still generating Revenue so if we head over here to Unsubscribe from weight to wealth 52-week program slash newsletter 44 Subscribers so that means that 44 subscribers have clicked on this link Which is pretty awesome it means that They're saying pam i don't want to be Part of this newsletter however i do Want to hear from you and i love that I'm pretty i'm open To that and i think it's it's great now There are some people who have obviously Clicked this link to unsubscribe Completely and that's okay too and that Will happen to your list it'll happen to Everybody's list but by having this Additional portion here You get to Let's call it save perhaps a third of Those people who would have unsubscribed Completely from your entire uh Email list so this is my little hack for That thank you so much for watching let Me know if you have any questions that You want me to answer about convertkit About automation or about how you can Use it in your business and speaking
