So we all know that email marketing is Absolutely important when it comes to Running a business online however there Are a few problems that an online Business owner would face when it comes To email marketing one is sending the Email itself and two is having your Emails opened by your recipient now the Problem with number two is that most People actually have their emails going Into the spam box and so in today's Video I want to share 10 different Things that you can do to get your Emails opened and away from the spam box So here is how to prevent your emails From going into spam number one the First thing you want to do is to get Permission to send emails one of the Reasons most emails go into spam is Because a lot of the senders don't Actually have permission perhaps you Know you've grabbed the email from an Old list of people who you met in person And perhaps you had their business cards And you know how networking events you Exchange business not that's not Actually permission to add somebody to Your email list that is permission to Email them so for example if you are Going to be sending them a single email About a conversation that you have had In person or at an event or somewhere oh Yeah that's fine but to add them to your Autoresponder and continuously email

Them they haven't really expressly given You their permission now the proper way To get permission is to have a landing Page with a lead Magnet or a freebie so Here is an example of one of our landing Pages now you can see that on this Landing page it's very clear what is Going to be happening so there is a Headline there is a sub headline there Is the gift which is the lead magnet That you are going to be receiving and Of course there is a space for you to Add in your name your email and most Importantly there is a button for you to Give us the express permission to add You to our email list send you the gift And of course continue to communicate With you now that is really what a Standard landing page looks like um if You're going to be emailing people Constantly or regularly you'll want to Have their express permission and the Beautiful thing about them giving you Their permission and especially if there Is a freebie or a lead method involved It means that the moment somebody clicks That button and gives you that Permission you know by putting their Name and their email in they're going to Go over to their inbox to check for that Email and the moment they open that Email what they are doing is sending a Message to their own email provider and They start to send signals to say hey I

Like this person sending me an email in The future I would like to read more of Their emails and then of course in the Future when you send more of your emails It lands in the inbox or does it let's Move to number two because there are so Many more reasons why even if you do Have express permission why your email Might be landing in the spam box the Second reason is that you are not Sending enough emails and most people in The first 12 months of their business I Would actually say are not sending any Emails now this is really bad the reason This is really bad and you know Something you need to definitely curb And I mean right now is because when you Are not emailing your subscribers you Become cold right they become a code Subscriber on your email list your email Autoresponder does not recognize them as A person who regularly opened your email And their email service provider does Not recognize you as a person who sends Them an email and so here you are you Come along maybe six to 12 months later With an email of a launch or something That you are doing and the email Autoresponder start talking to yourself And go hey who is this person and guess What happens they send your email to the Spam box so when you start building your Email list it's really important that You not only ask for permission but once

You've got that permission you want your Email your brand your business your Company to stay at the Forefront of your Ideal client's mind and one of the ways That you do that is to email regularly Now before somebody comments below and Says Pam how often should I email there Is no right or wrong to how often you Should email but at the very least once A month and if you can do it once a week Even better in fact I know a lot of Marketers who do once a day emails now You might think pound isn't that Ludicrous isn't that too much are people Reading emails listen research shows That the people who actually email daily Are the ones who have their emails Opened more and they're the ones who Actually make more money hence why Yours Truly emails daily let's move on to Number three number three now one of the Things I do with my email list that Helps me to keep my open rates a little Bit higher than most is that within my Emails I try to elicit conversation what Does that mean not all of my emails have Links inside them sometimes inside of my Emails it might have a call to action Saying hit reply and then I would ask a Question or I might ask a question and Then follow with hit reply and tell me Such and such by me asking them to hit Reply and tell me something it does Several things one it helps me to prove

That they're not on bot and they're a Real human being if they do reply number Two if they reply back to me and I reply Back to them guess what happens we go up On the BFF level in each other's minds Because they know that not only am I a Business person and a brand but I'm also A human being and I have just replied to Their email and so therefore we are Building that no like and Trust Factor But most importantly concerning this Specific video the other thing that it Does is that it helps your email stay Away from the spam box because again we Are sending a message a signal to the Email platforms to say hey we know each Other can't you see we're replying and Talking to each other back and forth as Normal people wouldn't do and so it's Very important that you invite people to Reply to your emails number four I'm the Subject of the things that we can do to Keep your emails from hitting the spam Box one of the things that you should Always do is to ask your new subscribers To White list your emails now depending On what platform you use there are Several ways of doing this the most Simplest way is to Simply add a piece of Text in your email asking people to White list your email I also find that My tip number three which is asking People to reply sort of white lists your Emails because by then replying to you

They're already sending that signal to Their email service provider that they Know you you and then your next email That they receive as long as you don't Leave it for too long ends up in their Inbox but again you might want to do Some research you know according to the Email marketing platform that you use Into a specific automated way that you Can help people to whitelist your email So before I move on if you haven't yet Already subscribed to this Channel and You're loving this of course then make Sure you subscribe we publish it three Times a week on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays so hit that subscribe button Turn on your Bell so that you will be The first to be notified when we publish Number five speaking of email service Providers tip number five is to use a Reputable email service provider now why Is this important and why you know why Should you avoid bootlegging your way Through your email marketing it's Important to use a reputable email Service providers because these email Service providers have already put in a Lot of work and a lot of money into Making ensure that your email is landing In the inbox never going to spend money On that they've already done all of the Research and a lot of these platforms They already have tools built into them That helps you to determine whether your

Email is spammy or if it's okay to send For example I know that active campaign Has a tool you know it checks your Emails and it tells you you know whether It is spammy or not and you know when I Used to use activecampaign that was a Really good tool to use now I personally Use convertkit right now and it works Really well I find out my emails land in The inbox not 100 of the time because Nobody anymore lands 100 of the time but Mostly it does so check your email Autoresponder and do some research look Into that features do they have a Feature already built in that helps your Email to stay away from the spam box if They do then stick with them they're a Good brand number six don't write spammy Subject lines subject lines are huge They are one of the main culprits that Gets your emails Landing in the spam box Or in the promotions at tab if people Are using Gmail of course Um subject lines are absolutely critical And this is where platforms like Gmail They are really looking at the subject Line of the sender to determine if this Is something that is promotional or if It is something that is indeed useful Now take a look at this screenshot which I took from my Gmail account this is From my promotions tab you see that a Lot of the brands on the screen right Now are actually reputable Brands I mean

These Brands spend millions in marketing Including email marketing so they know Their stuff but yet they are in my Permission box now it's for one of Several reasons one their subject line Or two because I haven't really been Opening emails from these Brands and so They haven't scrapped me off their list And so because of that Gmail has decided That Pam doesn't like these emails and So it has put their emails into the Promotions Tab and if you look closely At the headlines of some of these uh Emails you'll see that the headline is Actually one of the reasons why they are In the permissions tab in the first day So your headlines are incredibly Important in fact I have put together 200 plus email subject lines that we Have proven to work that stay away from The spam box I want you to check it out Uh it's on the screen right now but I Will be linking it below this video so Make sure you grab that now let's move On to number seven number seven is to Limit the number of links inside of your Email now I know that you're a marketer If you're watching this then you you run A business so you want to run a business And you are obviously watching this Because you want to keep your emails Away from the spam box well one of the Things that we have noticed actually Gets your emails in the spam box is if

You have too many links in your emails So so whilst you might be you know you Know doing a launch or of making an Offer offering some sort of products to Your subscribers try to limit the number Of links you don't need 10 links you Know try to have maximum of Three Links If you must in your email maximum of Three no more than that otherwise you Run the risk of appearing spammy because Of the number of links that are inside Of your emails number eight is to scrub Your email list now what does scrubbing Your email list mean scrapping your Email list essentially means cleaning Your email list when you send emails Regularly one of the things that your Email autoresponder will do is that it Will show you who your code subscribers Are a cold subscriber is somebody who Isn't opening your emails regularly or Perhaps they haven't opened your emails In the last 60 days now these people are Considered cold if you keep emailing Your code subscribers and they keep not Opening your emails your email Reputation goes all the way down and Guess what happened and the majority of Your emails will now begin to land in The promotions tab because your email Sender reputation has gone down now one Of the ways to mitigate this is to make Sure that you are scrubbing your email List now most email providers have this

Feature already built in now I use Convertkit and inside of convertkit it's As easy as me clicking a few buttons to Find who my code subscriber is and what We do is that we send a series of emails That sort of wakes them up and if you Know if those emails don't work for Those specific subscribers we remove Them from our list and that leads me to Number nine number nine is to have a Personal email address one of the things That I learned very early on in my Business is how important it is to have A personalized email address so for Example avoid things like info at Whatever the email is try to have your Name there instead so Pam pamobasa.com Is far better than info Why because when I have my name at the Beginning of my email it makes it more Personal it's like a real person is Sending it because guess what it is a Real person sending it when you have Info at it's not quite a real person and Guess what these email platforms they Know they can see they can read these Emails so do yourself a favor and have a Real name sending these emails and last But not least number 10. number 10 is to Make it easy for people to unsubscribe I Cannot tell you how many times I've Needed to unsubscribe from somebody's Email and they have made it incredibly Difficult uh I mean you know it's people

Who use a specific email platform I'm Not going to name that platform but I've Noticed this is you know a common Occurrence from this specific platform And so guess what I do I get annoyed and I have to then report a Spam which isn't Good but the truth of the matter is that If I or anybody wants to unsubscribe From your email you should make it easy If if people don't want to be on your Email make it easy for them to leave to Unsubscribe it because if you don't they End up not opening your emails in which Case they become cold and then of course Your sending reputation goes down or They report you as a spam in which case Again your sending reputation goes even Further down because now you are being Reported as a spammy so make sure that Unsubscribe link is clear and is visible Don't try to remove it having a Profitable business is not about how big Your list is it is about how responsive Your list is so if they are not Responding allow them to leave because Then those who are responding by opening Your emails and clicking the buttons not Only will you make more money but of Course your sending reputation will go Right up and more of your emails will End up in the inbox so I've just shared 10 things that you can do to keep your Emails away from the spam box comment Below and let me know which of these 10
